In order to investigate the density effect on growth and cultural production in tidal flat rack oyster farm, the first experiment was carried out, in the density of 25, 50, 75 and 100 ind./bag, in November 2011. The density effect on growth was observed only after the outbreak of summer mortality, which resulted in significant decrease in the growth at high density group. To minimize the effect of summer mortality, the second experiment was carried out in the density of 25, 50, 75, 1 00 an d 200 in d./bag in March 2012. Although though being no significant mortality, oyster in the density of 200 in d./bag showed significant decrease in shell length and total weight but not in fatness and meat weight. If stocked under the denisity of 200 ind./bag with 40-50 mm in shell length, oyster could reach a market-sized, and be harversted within 6-8 months. This finding suggested that a strategic approach is necessary for oyster rack culture to obtain the optimal production when determining the stocking density.
